The Old Town Summer Art Camp is returning!
For the fifth year in a row, our instructor Belliisi will lead children in drawing, painting, and discovering the wonders of the Old Town.
The goal of the art camp is to create and learn art outdoors. To notice the beauty around us and try to capture it in our own unique way.
We will experiment with watercolor techniques and different approaches to portraying what we see.
Over the course of three days, we will tackle various tasks that include
exploring perspective, the relationship between light and shadow, color play, the use of imagination, and working with different formats.
We’ll move around the city and plan to visit exhibitions to explore the distinctive styles of different artists.
Throughout the day, we will create about 2-3 pieces of art, with watercolor being the main technique we use. We will choose a suitable view or object from the urban space based on the task at hand. We will also take a peek into churches and the mysterious rooms of medieval houses in the Old Town. A hot lunch is included in the camp day.
The camp will be led by freelance artist Belliisi Seenemaa, who has a background from the Pallas University of Applied Arts in Tartu. She has guided summer art camps for several years in Tallinn, Tartu, and Võru. Belliisi has studied textile art, art education, and styling and decoration, and has further enriched her skills through internships in Germany and France. During the winter season, you can also join Belliisi in exploring art exhibitions at KUMU.
WHERE:
Gathering, daily start, and end of day will all take place at the same location: Hopner House, Raekoja plats 18, Tallinn.
Painting and drawing sessions will be held in different spots throughout the Old Town, as we explore and move around the city space.

Price: 80€ (includes art materials and a hot lunch).
Please bring a light backpack that can fit two small bottles – one with drinking water and the other with water for painting (it can be empty initially – we’ll fill it together).
Please also consider the weather and dress accordingly! Wear appropriate footwear, a head covering for sun protection, and it’s a good idea to have something in your bag that you can put on if it gets cold.
Since the weather in Estonia is always unpredictable in the summer, it’s a good idea to have a rain poncho ready in your bag.

*empty water bottle
*drinkingwater
*Headwear (hat/scarf, as we will be outdoors all day!)
*Tracksuit (for comfort and warmth)
